Design qualities

The steel weathers to create a natural copper coloured patina. This weathering forms a protective rust layer that stops the steel being eaten away by the elements

Appearance

Corten steel is a no maintenance surface that lends itself to simple, modern designs.

Long service life

Corten steel will last a very long time. It does not need to be oiled or protected. There may be some initial run off of the oxide until the steel develops its protective coating. This can take 2-3 weeks or more to settle down.
