Cordyline australis 'Red Star'

  • A native of New Zealand the Cordyline australis is an excellent choice for balcony gardens. It grows very well in pots, will tolerate a variety of conditions from full sun through to shade and has a medium to low water requirement once established. The variety we recommend is Red Star. The burgundy coloured leaves provide great contrast. The Red Star will grow to 2m at most. As new growth is produced from the centre of the plant the lower leaves progressively fall off creating a trunk.
