Murraya

Murraya
  • The murraya is probably the hardiest and most forgiving of this range of plants. Add to this its beautifully scented flowers and long flowering season and you have an ideal balcony plant.
  • Planted in troughs they make a great hedge, alternatively plant a single plant in a large round planter to create a feature. We would typically recommend using large established plants (300mm or larger) for instant impact.

Water approx every 3 days in Summer and every 7 days in Winter

The Murraya really is an easy care plant that is relatively drought tolerant once established. They will tolerate a smaller pot however for best results plant in a large pot i.e. two 300mm plants per 1m trough or one 300mm plant in something similar to a large terrazzo crucible. Water well at least once a week in winter and twice a week in summer ensuring all the soil in the pot is moist.

If you have used a quality potting mix with added fertilizers then there is no need to add additional fertilizer in the first year. After that either used a controlled release fertilizer in spring and autumn or apply a liquid fertilizer such as Seasol every couple of weeks.
